Nerds, geeks and cosplay lovers get ready. Penticton害羞草研究所檚 first Comic-Con style event is coming to the Lakeside Resort this weekend.

The Penti-Con convention takes over the hotel on July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Organizers are calling on all anime, manga, science fiction, fantasy, gaming, cosplay, horror and comic fans to come out.

害羞草研究所淭his is a pop-culture convention,害羞草研究所� said Jo Scofield, one of the event organizers. 害羞草研究所淚t has everything we could think of that could fit in one day.害羞草研究所�

Scofield said a group of five friends have been working together since last summer to plan the event.

害羞草研究所淎ll of our team has been to Comic-Con events all over Canada and the U.S., we are geeks and cosplayers. We absolutely love going to events like this and we will love it even more if we won害羞草研究所檛 have to travel,害羞草研究所� explained Scofield.

The Penti-Con event has more than 50 vendors participating and organizers promise there will be lots to see and do.

害羞草研究所淲e have cosplay guests and ,害羞草研究所� said Scofield. 害羞草研究所淲e have Jorge Vargas Jr., who is an actor out of Vancouver coming up for the day. As well as Jett Klyne, who is an awesome little actor out of Penticton.害羞草研究所�

She added that organizers cannot wait for this weekend as the reception leading up to the event has been 害羞草研究所榓mazing害羞草研究所�.

害羞草研究所淓veryone we talk to is excited and wonderfully supportive,害羞草研究所� said Scofield.
