'Inspiring Hope': South Okanagan Women In Need Society hosts new fundraiser

A brand-new event is coming to Penticton in support of the South Okanagan Women In Need Society (SOWINS).

"Inspiring Hope," a new fall fundraiser hosted by the non-profit group, heads to the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Saturday, Nov. 2.

"We are so excited for this new event and have already seen a great response from the community with corporate sponsorship and tickets selling very quickly,害羞草研究所 said Liz Gomes, executive director of SOWINS.

Presented by Penticton Foundry, the fundraiser will feature a champagne reception with appetizers and live music from Kelowna's Anna Jacyszyn.

The event will also include a silent and live auction, as well as "Fund A Need" with a generous donor on hand to match donations from the public.

害羞草研究所淲e have created a unique experience, different than most gala-style events,害羞草研究所 said Marni Adams, a fund development advisor at SOWINS. 害羞草研究所淲e hope to sell out and most importantly raise much-needed funds for local women, youth, and children in need."

SOWINS a Penticton-based non-profit formed in 1981, serves women, children, youth, and families facing abuse and violence. It provides shelter, safety and support by helping individuals recognize, understand, and overcome the impacts of abuse, according to its website.

害羞草研究所淭he funds raised through this community campaign will go directly to our community to support these survivors of domestic abuse and violence,害羞草研究所 Gomes added.

Organizers say the capacity of the event will be 175. A total of 150 tickets already been sold, as of Sept. 10.
