Three brothers from Coquitlam earned top spots in the annual Interior Savings Across the Lake Swim.

Timothy, Andrew and Alex Woinoski placed first, second and third in the race.

This is the third time competitive swimmer Kassidie Cornell swam from West Kelowna to City Park害羞草研究所檚 shore.

害羞草研究所淭his year was really warm, the lake was warm and the currents weren害羞草研究所檛 bad. There was a bit of a wake from the boats I had to deal with at one point but other than that it was great conditions,害羞草研究所� she said.

The West Kelowna resident is on a swimming scholarship while attending the University of South Dakotah so this was a way for her to stay in shape, she said.

She didn害羞草研究所檛 have a set time wanted to beat, but she aimed to complete the race within 28 to 30 minutes. She came in 40th overall with 28:54.

Race director Peter Rudd said the point of the event is to give Central Okanagan kids free swimming lessons.

Each year, Interior Savings raises $40,000 from the events in Kelowna and Peachland.

The race is in its 69th year and this year害羞草研究所檚 turnout has been larger than the last.

害羞草研究所淲hen I started as race director five years ago, we had 300 swimmers. Now, we have 1,200. It害羞草研究所檚 grown an awful lot,害羞草研究所� said Rudd.

Swimmers from all over the world partake in the race, including some from the United States.

The swim is open for competitive swimmers and family members alike.

害羞草研究所淭he youngest is eight and the oldest is 86,害羞草研究所� said Rudd.

The race was held Saturday, July 15.
