Some of the world's most renowned mountain films will soon be played on the silver screen in Penticton.

The Nickle Plate Nordic Centre is bringing the Banff Mountain Film Festival (BMFF) to Cleland Theatre on Sept. 13.

Described as a celebration of adventure and storytelling, the festival is currently on tour and making stops at venues across the United States, Canada and 50 different countries, including the U.K. and Australia.

"We're excited to host the BMFF once again and offer an evening that combines thrilling cinematic experiences with great local flavours," said Nickle Plate Nordic Centre president Rick Watson.

"It害羞草研究所檚 a perfect opportunity for our community to come together for a cinematic celebration of adventure, resilience and the indomitable human spirit."

According to the Banff Centre of Arts, a record number of submissions were received for this year's film festival.

The films promise to take viewers on an "emotional ride through the landscapes of the heart and the great outdoors," event organizers in Penticton said.

Doors to Cleland Theatre will open at 6 p.m., with films set to begin at 7 p.m.

Nickle Plate Nordic Centre, a cross-country ski venue located about 45 minutes southwest of Penticton, has partnered with Roche Wines and Cannery Brewing to provide beverages during the upcoming festival.

"Attendees can look forward to a night of breathtaking films plus the chance to win amazing draw prizes," organizers said.
