For the third year in a row, Osoyoos is gearing up to host a region-wide celebration of arts and culture.

The South Okanagan-Similkameen (SOS) Pride Society is bringing back its Pride Arts Festival to the town's Gyro Park on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Featuring music, dance, comedy and more, event organizers say the festival's main stage will be filled with talented local performers all day long.

After an opening ceremony at 11 a.m., and subsequent march across Osoyoos' downtown core, performances will take place from 11:50 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Gyro Park,

"We are dedicated to creating a space where everyone feels seen, heard and celebrated," said Keisha McLean, the event's artist coordinator. "Our goal is to showcase the incredible contributions of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists, and to provide a platform where their voices and stories can resonate with audiences."

Since 2022, SOS Pride has partnered with the Wide Arts National Association to make the festival a reality. It was also made possible through the Resort Municipality Initiative grant from the Town of Osoyoos.

A "vibrant lineup" of performances is once again on tap for this year's event, organizers said.

"Each act has been carefully curated to ensure a dynamic and inclusive experience for all festival-goers," a press release reads.

"Whether you are a local resident or visitor, the Pride Arts Festival promises to be a landmark event that you won't want to miss."
