The North Shuswap will be dealing with the aftermath of the Bush Creek East wildfire º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù“ the regionº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s biggest disaster º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù“ for years to come.

Thankfully, the Shuswap Community Foundation has set up a fund dedicated to helping those in need.

Now you can assist with this effort and have a fun time too as Celebrate Shuswap is hosting a benefit dance party on Saturday, Nov. 25, featuring Headway º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù“ the hottest rock º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù˜nº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™ roll band in the Shuswap. Not only are the bandº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s members talented musicians with years of experience, but they also put on dynamic shows that are as fun to watch as they are to listen and dance to all night long.

Headway has been performing throughout the Southern Interior steadily since they began in 2021, bringing joy to audiences of all ages. No wonder they dazzle the crowds because each of them has been playing most of their lives and often with some great bands.

Keeping the beat going with high energy, drummer John Baxter also plays with Donnie McDougal, who was once with the Guess Who. Vocalist Andrew Rocks has opened for the Headpins, and lead guitarist and crowd-pleaser John Noseworthy has been in several local bands. Ryan Guilbeault does more than just play bass, as he is also a real showman who knows how to thrill an audience. On keyboards is Ron Salstrom, who started his first rock band at the tender age of nine and has worked with many great artists over the years.

It is not only how they play, but what they play that makes Headway shows so much fun. Their repertoire includes many of the unique and eclectic hits from the 1960s to the º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™90s. Some of the bands they cover include Loverboy, The Cult, Van Halen and Styx.

Tickets are now on sale for this dance party benefit at celebrateshuswap.ca. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the band will begin at 7:30.
