4 escape house fire in Rutland

No injuries have been reported

Two adults and two children safely made it out of a house fire in Rutland, Thursday afternoon.

Following multiple reports of a possible structure fire in the 400 block of Edith Gay Road, fire crews arrived just after 4:15 p.m. to find smoke coming from the rear of a two-storey home.

The blaze was quickly knocked down, however, the interior and exterior of the attached garage did sustain damage, said Captain Jason Picklyk.

RCMP also attended and shut down the street, while emergency crews were on scene.

The four occupants of the home are now in the care of Emergency Support Services.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
