April 2023: Semi truck crashes into Kelowna home, stuck for 1 month

On the morning of April 11, a semi truck crashed into a town home at the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Gordon Drive in Kelowna.

A rescue crew quickly extracted the driver from the truck and he was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The semi truck, however, remained lodged in the home.

Crews then jumped into action to rescue the grandmother and baby from the home害羞草研究所檚 a second-floor balcony. The pair were the only two home at the time of the incident and were not injured.

More than one month after a ground shaking crash, the truck was finally removed from a the family害羞草研究所檚 living room.

Initially, the truck could not be safely removed due to concerns of structural damage to the home.

While the family was displaced as the truck remained lodged in the home, the house was burglarized. The family害羞草研究所檚 was car and multiple items were stolen by a group of men masquerading as construction workers.

Two men have since been arrested for the burglary.
