Assaulted with a weapon in downtown Kelowna

One person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after they were assaulted with a weapon, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to RCMP, police were called to the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue downtown Kelowna about 1:30 p.m., for a report of an incident between two people.

One of the people involved was assaulted with a weapon which caused several more officers to be brought to the scene.

Police sectioned off the Laneway while searching for the suspect and collected evidence. However, police have now left the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
