UDPATE: Spot fire near Black Mountain quickly doused by Kelowna crews

Crews quickly doused a spot fire off Highway 33 at Black Mountain on July 25.

Update 1:15 p.m.:

The Kelowna Fire Department quickly doused a spot fire that sparked just off the side of the Highway 33 at Garner Road and Hume Road on Black Mountain.

A single fire truck and a FortisBC truck were on scene with crews working to mop-up any remaining hot spots by 1:10 p.m. 

It is not clear what the cause of the fire was.

The Kelowna Fire Department has been called out to a grass fire in Black Mountain.

The call came in around 12:55 p.m. 

The small blaze is said to be near Highway 33 and Garner Road. 

Black Press has a reporter heading to the scene.
