Council approved $278.7 million in carryover budget requests for 2024 at its March 18 meeting.

That amount includes previously approved operating and capital expenditures for projects that cover several years or were unable to be completed in 2023.

Projects include the Kelowna International Airport improvement fee program, Rutland Centre sewer connection project, Highway 97 pedestrian overpass, and Dehart Park and Glenmore Recreation Park.

Budget carryover projects do not add to the current yearº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s taxation because they are funded through the previous yearº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s budget.

There are three stages to the annual budget process. The preliminary budget in December, carryover requests in March, and the final budget presented to council on April 22.
