Crash causes truck and trailer to flip on Kelowna's Highway 97N

Traffic is backing up into Kelowna

A two-vehicle collision caused a truck and trailer to flip on Highway 97 North near Old Vernon Road. 

One person on a stretcher was placed in the care of BC Ambulance and taken to hospital. Another person was also taken to hospital. 

The crash took place near Old Vernon Road North in the northbound lanes of Highway 97N. The highway is reduced to one lane northbound. 

A truck and trailer were seen flipped over in a ditch while the other vehicle, a Jeep, had the front smashed and airbags deployed. 

Multiple emergency crews are on scene including a fire rescue truck from Kelowna International Airport. 

Traffic is backed up by the YLW entrance off Highway 97.
