Emergency crews battle structure fire in Rutland

More to come

A large structure fire broke out on a property off of Dougall Road North and Leathead Road, Saturday night.

Residents took to social media with reports of flames and smoke coming from the area, just after 9 p.m.

The structure appears to be on a lot set for construction. However, itº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s unconfirmed if it was occupied.

Witnesses to the fire also claimed homes located near the blaze were being evacuated, which has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

Leathead Road along with other streets in the area have been blocked off by police as emergency crews are on scene.

A witness on Froelich Road told Capital News their street has not been impacted.

Capital News has reached out to the Kelowna Fire Department and RCMP for more details.
