Equipment failure leaves thousands in the dark in West Kelowna

BC Hydro stated a crew is estimated to arrive on scene by 11:15 p.m.

More than 3,000 BC Hydro customers in West Kelowna are without power, Wednesday night.

The outage occurred at about 8:40 p.m., affecting most of the Westbank and Gellatly areas, from south of Saddleback Place to west of Wetton Road to east of Highway 97.

BC Hydro is reporting the outage was caused by equipment failure. A crew is on their way to the scene with an arrival time of 11:15 p.m.

There is currently no estimated time for when the power will be restored.
