Fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 33 near Kelowna

A motorcycle crash that closed a section of Highway 33 on Monday morning, is now being confirmed as a fatal incident.

A 56-year-old man is being identified as the victim of the single-vehicle collision.

According to Cpl. Micheal Gauthier of the Kelowna RCMP, the man was travelling southbound before going across the median and into the opposing ditch.

Several bystanders and Emergency Health Services provided first aid, however, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

BC Coroners Service is now investigating.

The area near the Walter Hill brake check and Pyman Road was closed while emergency crews were on scene for about two hours before Highway 33 was reopened later Monday afternoon.
