Environment Canada has issued alerts for B.C.害羞草研究所檚 first real snowfall of the season, including along the Okanagan Connector.

The weather agency says flakes will begin falling Monday afternoon (Oct. 23) and are expected to continue until Tuesday night. Snow will be thickest along the Coquihalla Highway, where up to 10 centimetres is forecast.

Other Southern Interior highway passes will likely only see a few centimetres.

Further east, mountain passes between Salmon Arm and Golden are also expected to get a small dump of snow. Up to 10 cm is forecast along Rogers Pass, while Revelstoke and Golden will see 5 cm or less, mixed with rain. East Kootenay communities will also receive under 5 cm.

Environment Canada says the snowfall is B.C.害羞草研究所檚 first of the season and is the result of a slow-moving arctic front moving in from the coast. The agency is warning people to adjust their driving to changing road conditions.

Winter tires are required on mountain passes, rural routes and in all of the Kootenays and North.
