Canada Day celebrations were interrupted by a wildfire on Knox Mountain on July 1.
Smoke was first spotted at the top of the popular hiking and biking spot around 2 p.m. and a few hours later the blaze had grown to 6.5 hectares.
The BC Wildfire Service was called in to assist the Kelowna Fire Department, with air support, and the fire was held by 6 p.m.
Evacuation orders that were issued for Magic Estates, Poplar Point, Knox Mountain, Clifton and Wilden were downgraded to alerts.
Knox Mountain and Paul害羞草研究所檚 Tomb were closed for several days.
On July 3, Kelowna RCMP began investigating the human-caused fire and three days later asked for potential witnesses and video footage from July 1.
