A candidate in the 2022 Kelowna Municipal Election has been disqualified from running in the 2026 campaign.

A report from Elections BC states Daniel Joseph is barred from running for failing to disclose a financial statement or supplementary report within the applicable time.

"Candidates, elector organizations and third-party advertising sponsors who fail to file a disclosure statement by the late filing deadline with the $500 late filing fee or a supplementary report required by Elections BC are automatically disqualified," according to the report.

He is one of 58 candidates across several B.C. municipalities not allowed to campaign for office in 2026.

Joseph, who ran for councillor, was among 32 candidates in the 2022 Kelowna election and finished in 27th spot.
