The City of Kelowna is looking for a partner and location for an RV sani-dump station.

害羞草研究所淭here are other communities across the province that also have publicly accessible sani-dump stations as part of their tourism initiatives,害羞草研究所� said Councillor Ron Cannan, who brought the issue forward at Monday害羞草研究所檚 (June 24) meeting.   

He added a lack of proper public facilities can lead to illegal dumping.

害羞草研究所淚 talked to director (Kevin) Kraft from the regional district and he said he害羞草研究所檚 noticed more out in his area (Central Okanagan East) as well.害羞草研究所�

Council directed staff to look at a potential private-sector partnership to provide the service.

City Manager Doug Gilchrist said if that was unsuccessful, the city may consider taking it on. 

害羞草研究所淲e are in the waste business so it wouldn害羞草研究所檛 be a dramatic extension to do something like this for our community.害羞草研究所� 

It would require city property and potentially public dollars to operate.

He added it wouldn害羞草研究所檛 hurt to look into potential partnerships.

Coun. Luke Stack agreed. 

害羞草研究所淚 think it would be commonplace for people to expect a sani-dump somewhere in this region and I think it害羞草研究所檚 a shortcoming that we don害羞草研究所檛."
