Kelowna driver's excessive speed in school zone results in impound

The driver was caught going more than 50 km per hour over the speed limit

A Kelowna driver was caught going 88 kilometres per hour in a school zone where the posted limit is 30 kilometres per hour during school hours. 

On June 17, Kelowna Municipal Traffic conducted speed enforcement outside Raymer Elementary School. 

The driver was caught well over the speed limit around 11:30 a.m. 

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver was charged with excessive speeding. 

Drivers are reminded to slow down and obey signs on the road.
