The Kelowna Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Around 4 a.m., fire crews responded to the 900 block of Quigley Road for a structure fire.

Upon arrivals, the fire response was upgraded to a second alarm as smoke could be seen coming from a window on the second floor. Crews quickly doused the blaze and made sure all occupants were out of the house safely.

The blaze was contained to the initial house, causing no damage to surrounding homes. It is currently under investigation.

The Kelowna Fire Department responded with three engines, a rescue unit, a safety unit and a command unit, totalling 16 personnel.

Additionally, the RCMP, emergency services, and Fortis all attended the scene.
