Kelowna RCMP are reminding those enjoying Okanagan Lake to keep safety top of mind.

On July 11, officers were conducting patrols on the lake when they noticed an individual operating a personal water craft (PWC)  pulling a person on a tube without a spotter.

They fell off without the driver noticing, who continued for about 500 meters before realizing and turning around.

Officers directed the driver to shore where they were fined $287.50 under the small vessel regulations act and given a warning for failing to produce a pleasure craft operator card.
