Kelowna Rockets run out of fuel against Spokane

Rockets rookie Hiroki Gojsic害羞草研究所檚 first WHL hat-trick was not enough as Kelowna lost 8-5 to the Chiefs in Spokane Sunday (Feb. 4) night.

Gojsic (11), who is listening 94th on NHL Central Scouting害羞草研究所檚 Mid-Season rankings, put the Rockets on the board at 1:24 of the first period with an assist to Tij Iginla.

Eight minutes later Iginla (33) made it 2-0 Rockets on a pass from Dylan Wightma.

Spokane害羞草研究所檚 Carter Streek made it 2-1 as he put a shot past Kelowna goaltender Jake Pilon at the 11:50 mark.

The Chiefs tied the game at 12:33 on a goal from Rasmus Ekstr枚m, and just 10 seconds later Tij Iginla (34) got his second of the game on a pass from Dylan Wightman, putting the Rockets back in front.

Just 17 seconds in the second period, on the power play, Spokane害羞草研究所檚 Brayden Crampton made a diving play to get a shot off and collided with Pilon, knocking. the Rockets net off with the puck crossing the goal line.

After a review, the referees ruled it a good goal, tying the game 3-3.

The Chiefs went up 4-3 on a goal by Berkly Catton at 9:21 of the second.

Gojsic (12) tied the game just 1:40 later with his second of the night, banging home Dylan Wightman害羞草研究所檚 rebound.

Just under two minutes later, Catton gave the Chiefs the lead back with his second goal of the game.

Spokane made it a two-goal lead as Coco Armstrong scored in the final minute of the second.

Not to be outdone, Gojsic (13) completed his hat-trick making it 6-5 at 19:20.

Conner Roulette and Streek both scored for Spokane in the third.

Kelowna was outshot 44-29 in the game.

The Rockets record is now 22-24-3-0, tied for sixth in the Western Conference with the Vancouver Giants.

Kelowna害羞草研究所檚 next game is Wednesday, Feb. 7 as they host the Victoria Royals at Prospera Place.
