Kelowna Rockets well represented in NHL and AHL playoffs

Tij Iginla has been named to team Canada playing in the U18 Mensº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™ World Championship in Finland

Several current Kelowna Rockets are still playing hockey, even though the teamº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s season is over.

Kelowna was eliminated from the WHL Western Conference Final after a 6-3 loss to the Prince George Cougars on Apr. 19.

Andrew Cristall is playing for the Hersey Bears in the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs.

Former Rockets also taking part in the AHL playoffs are:

  • Lassi Thomson, Rourke Chartier - Belleville Senators
  • Rourke Charier - Belleville Senators
  • Taly Boyko - Hartford Wolf Pack
  • Tyson Feist, Devante Stephens - Syracuse Crunch
  • Carson Golder, Mark Liwiski - Manitoba Moose
  • Kole Lind - Coachella Valley Firebirds
  • Justin Kirkland - Tucson Roadrunners
  • Colton Dach - Rockford IceHogs

Eight former Rockets are competing in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs:

  • Leon Draisaitl - Edmonton Oilers
  • Jamie Benn - Dallas Stars
  • Josh Morrissey - Winnipeg Jets
  • Luke Schenn, Tyson Barrie, Colton Sissons - Nashville Predators
  • Tyler Myers - Vancouver Canucks
  • Lucas Johansen - Washington Capitals

Also, Tij Iginla has been added to the roster for Canada at the U18 Mensº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™ World Championship in Finland.

Iginla was named to the Western Hockey Leagueº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s 2023-24 B Division First All-Star Team at the end of the regular season.

The Rockets 2024 MVP award winner finished second in scoring on the team with 84 points (47G-37A) in 62 games. His 47 goals were tied for sixth among all WHL skaters.

The tournament starts Apr. 25. Canada is in Group B with Czechia, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Switzerland.

Canadaº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s first game is against Sweden.
