A Kelowna couple, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, has won the Lake Life Lottery grand prize.

John and Sherry Gulley found out on Jan. 11 that they held the winning ticket for the $1.37 million prize package, which includes a fully-furnished dream home in Quail害羞草研究所檚 Landing.

害羞草研究所淚 was in absolute disbelief,害羞草研究所 said John. 害羞草研究所淭ammie from the YMCA had to spend a good five minutes convincing me because I was so incredulous. I just couldn害羞草研究所檛 believe it.

The Gulleys, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2023, have called Kelowna home for the past decade.

害羞草研究所淲e began our journey fifty years ago with almost nothing,害羞草研究所 Sherry said. 害羞草研究所淭hrough years of hard work and countless relocations for the sake of our family害羞草研究所檚 opportunities, this unexpected blessing is a beautiful addition to our shared adventure.害羞草研究所

The Gulleys have close ties to community health. John害羞草研究所檚 father was a physician and his mother was a nurse, and Sherry has several cousins who work at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).

害羞草研究所淲e害羞草研究所檝e supported other home lotteries, but this one is special because it is local, and the two causes are so important for our community,害羞草研究所 John explained.

All funds raised from the Lake Life Lottery remain in the interior of BC, supporting physical, social and mental health initiatives through the KGH Foundation and the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.

Kamloops resident Hayley Green also celebrated a significant win, taking home more than $235,000 as the Lake Life Lottery 50/50 draw prize winner.

害羞草研究所淓ven after looking at the email and matching the tickets, it was still hard to believe,害羞草研究所 she says.

The winning continues with the February 害羞草研究所楽plash of Cash害羞草研究所 month, offering $91,000 in cash prizes, including a $29,000 Leap Year draw.

害羞草研究所淎 heartfelt congratulations to John and Sherry, Hayley, and all of the other prize winners,害羞草研究所 said Tammie Watson with the YMCA. 害羞草研究所淲e are immensely grateful for your support.害羞草研究所
