An RCMP vehicle seen at the Petro Can on Harvey Ave on Nov. 20.

A heavy police presence shut down multiple streets around Dilworth Drive and Harvey Avenue, late Monday afternoon.

The southbound lanes of Underhill Street and Dilworth Drive were both closed to traffic between Harvey Avenue and Baron Road, causing traffic congestion in the area.

Const. Mike Della-Paolera said that there was a report of a person with a weapon in the area, however, after an extensive search no weapon was found.

There were several social media reports that the BMO on Dilworth Drive had been robbed, but Const. Della-Paolera said that was not the case.

The Dilworth area was shut down for about an hour.
