A public hearing for a major apartment complex planned for Auburn Road has been scheduled for Dec. 11.
Surrey-based Landvision Group wants to build five, four-storey buildings at 2741 Auburn Road, totalling 401 units.
Residents living in the Terravitta condos, which are next door and above the site, are concerned about traffic congestion, safety, and potential environmental impacts.
The development is planned for property across from Constable Neil Bruce Middle School.

Council is expecting a large turnout from the public and there was discussion about holding the meeting at the Lions Hall.

The issue does not prevent council from holding the hearing at the hall, however, members of the public wanting to watch online would not be able to do so.
Staff will make as much space available as possible in council chamber, which does have live-streaming capabilities.
The public hearing is Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
Landvision is also hosting an open house on the project on Dec. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Shannon Lake Golf Club.
