Three fires reported between Penticton and Carmi

The fires are likely caused by lightning strikes

Three fires have been reported between Carmi and Penticton on July 23, with two listed as being caused by lightning.

Three wildfires have been reported on July 22 and 23 between Penticton and Carmi across two fire districts. 

The two fires located in the Southeast Fire Centre are 0.1 and 0.009 hectares in size and closer to Carmi and Beaverdell.

The fire in the Kamloops Fire Centre, located about 27 kilometres east of Penticton, is currently an estimated six hectares in size. 

The cause of the two fires in the Southeast is attributed to lightning strikes while the fire closer to Penticton is still listed as under investigation.
