West Kelowna to show off new Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant

A ribbon-cutting and community celebration is set for Friday, May 31 a 11 a.m.

The doors to the new Rose Valley Water Treatment Plan will open to the public on Friday (May 31).

The City of West Kelowna invites the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration to open the facility.

Before the end of 2023, approximately 19,650 residents turned on their taps to clean, safe, and reliable water from the plant.

Attendees are advised to dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event.

The city also asks those attending to respect the neighbourhood by following a 30 km/h speed limit and not to park in front of any driveways along Rosewood Drive leading to the plant.

Parking space is also limited on-site, so carpooling, walking, or biking may be an option.

Appropriate footwear should be worn, especially if registered for a guided tour. Open-toed shoes, sandals, and pointed heels cannot be safely permitted inside the plant.

Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sign-in and safety orientation will occur before the tour begins.
