Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla is set to take part on Utah Hockey Club's rookie camp.

Kelowna Rockets star Tij Iginla is set to attend the Utah Hockey Club's 2024 rookie camp.

The 18-year-old was selected sixth overall by Utah in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in June, the first ever draft choice in team history. Utah is the newest team to the NHL, after the Arizona Coyotes relocated to beehive state.

Last season with the Rockets, Iginla was second on the team with 84 points (47 goals, 37 assists) in 64 games.

Utah's rookie camp starts this week and leads into the Rookie Faceoff, which is a showcase event where rookies from Utah, the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, and Vegas Golden Knights play against each other from Sept. 13-16. An event much like the that takes place in Penticton the same weekend with the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Winnipeg Jets.
