Seems it does not take too much to get a municipal councillor excited these days.

When the issue of rezoning a small piece of property in Kelowna害羞草研究所檚 Mission area came up for discussion at city council害羞草研究所檚 meeting Monday, at least on councillor admitted she was so excited to see it proceeding, she actually cheered害羞草研究所攐ut loud.

The object of Gray害羞草研究所檚 excitement was rezoning a small piece of land owned by FortisBC, located beside its Swordy Road substation, to allow it to become a 67-stall parking lot for a five-storey retail, commercial and apartment complex nearby called The Shore. The land for the parking lot would be leased to the developers of The Shore.

Kelowna council had encouraged the developer to try and obtain the land for the parking lot because concerns about the lack of parking in the area.

Other councillors also expressed happiness to see the rezoning proposal. But no one else admitted to cheering out loud over the prospect.
