Crews, residents brace for storm

Stay with us through the evening for any updates on forecasted flooding

Crews around the Central Okanagan are busy out preparing for flooding this evening.

On the Westside, crews were fortifying the bridge over Power害羞草研究所檚 Creek at Gellatly Bay with concrete blocks in an effort to stop water from coming over the bridge.

As of about 5:30 p.m. the water level was at the bottom of the bridge.

Rains are now expected later this evening and all warnings about flooding remain in effect.

The Westbank First Nation issued a, joining other municipalities in the area.

In Kelowna on Burne Ave., residents had while right across B.C. .

The YMCA of Okanagan is opening its doors to community members who may be affected.

The YMCA of Okanagan welcomes individuals to either the Kelowna Family YMCA or the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre to use the showers free of charge during this time. All they ask is that you bring photo ID upon entry.
