The evacuation alert for the Shelter Bay fire is still in effect. BC Wildfire Service has updated the evacuation alert and placed an area restriction due to the blaze. 

The update includes a road closure from Cranberry Forest Service Road in the north to Eagle Bay Campsite. As well, Eagle Bay Recreation is now closed, as of the evening of July, 21. According to a post by Revelstoke and Area Emergency Management, the Shelter Bay fire is approximately 109 hectares with a burn rank of 2-3. The post further explained that crews on the north side have been able to make progress with containment lines. Whereas, in the south, crews removed hazardous combustible materials and are laying sprinklers. 

The Dry Creek fire is estimated to be 150 hectares and remains out of control. 

The City of Revelstoke has issued an evacuation alert on behalf of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area B.

The alert is in response of a wildfire in the vicinity of Dry Creek.

The evacuation alert is issued for the following areas: Highway 23 South from Cranberry Creek to Shelter Bay, and Shelter Bay to 12km on the Shelter Bay Forest Service Road.

The alert was issued to remind people to be prepared to evacuate their premises or property should an evacuation order be made. While residents will be given as much notice as possible, they may receive limited notice, depending on the the changing conditions.
