A fundraiser has been started to help a hospitalized mother of a child with Down Syndrome after she was run over by her own car. 

Yolanda Kost is currently in critical condition according to the GoFundMe, where she is battling injuries that she might not recover from. 

Kost was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital on Sept. 7 after her car rolled over her. 

According to the fundraiser, Kost suffered a broken occipital bone and has become completely blind in one eye, a broken arm, a broken clavicle, a broken pelvis and broken ribs. 

"With her expected to be in hospital for quite some time and then still having to do major recovery time at home before being able to even think about going to work she's definitely going to need some help to cover some costs," reads the fundraiser page. "Her son has Down Syndrome and there may be expenses that need to be covered for therapies that he needs as well."

In addition to raising her young son, Kost is described as a great supporter of the community, regularly volunteering at the community garden, food bank and the community yard sale.
