Emily Epp has completed her journey across the English Channel in 11 hours and 57 minutes.

Everything went well, said social media organizer and Kelowna Aquajets coach Thomas Robinson, adding at one point she was stung by a jellyfish but it wasn害羞草研究所檛 concerning.

Swimming the English Channel is more than just a cool experience for the Kelowna teen. Emily is also using it as an opportunity to raise money for Canuck Place, a children害羞草研究所檚 hospice that has been an important place for the Epp family.

Emily害羞草研究所檚 mother Cheryl Epp said they started receiving care there about five years ago for their daughter Elan, who lost all of her motor control following a viral infection when she was 18 months old.

害羞草研究所淓lan was pretty sick at that point,害羞草研究所 she said of her middle daughter, who is now 15. 害羞草研究所淲e were having a lot of issues with pain management and feeding. And really just helping her to have the best quality of life that she can have.害羞草研究所

Epp said the program has improved Elan害羞草研究所檚 life dramatically.
