Man faces potential charges after stabbing incident

A Kelowna man remains in police custody and faces potential charges after police responded to report of a domestic assault early Tuesday morning.

On May 30 at 1:35 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP general duty officers responded to a family disturbance, with violence, at a home on June Springs Road in Kelowna.

Police attended the residence to find a male on the front porch area of the home, suffering from what were believed to be self-inflicted injuries that were non-life threatening. A family member was providing first-aid treatment.

Both individuals were transported by BC Ambulance Service to the hospital in stable condition for medical treatment. The woman has since been released from hospital.

The Kelowna RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU), supported by the General Investigations Section (GIS), has assumed conduct of this investigation. RCMP have secured the scene awaiting a warrant to search and examine the property.
