Multiple calls of erratic driving lead police to arrest of Vernon man

After several calls from concerned Vernon citizens, the RCMP arrested a man on Sunday, Jan. 28 for erratic driving.

Reports from the public centred around a small black car that had allegedly committed a hit and run and was being driven dangerously in the city.

Officers responded and using the information from the callers, located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence in the 4000-block of 32nd Ave. Through the course of the investigation, the driver was identified and arrested for dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The 34-year-old Vernon man was later released from custody and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance at a later date.
