Three new spot-fires were reported in the Shuswap following an early morning thunderstorm.
Discovered Monday morning, July 22, the Bastion Mountain wildfire was burning adjacent to Blackwood Creek, southwest of Canoe Point. Northwest of that was the new Reineker Creek wildfire.
Also discovered Monday morning was the Anstey Arm wildfire. Another spot-sized fire (.009 hectares), was burning approximately one kilometre west of a 3.5-hectare fire south of Hunakwa Lake.
As of 10 a.m., the causes of the fires were still under investigation.
