An evacuation alert is in effect for 14 properties near Sorrento early Tuesday morning.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Shuswap Emergency Program issued the alert at 6:30 a.m. on July 23. This was done in response to a wildfire burning in the South Shore Place and Elson Road area south of the CPKC railway tracks, "increasing the risk to 14 properties in Electoral Area G."
Affected addresses include: 591-622 Elson Road and 608-650 South Shore Place.
As of 7:20 the fire was not yet on the BC Wildfire Service's map of current wildfires.
