Public Sculpture Exhibit returns to downtown Penticton

Original sculptures will be on display through April 2025

An annual exhibit that showcases the work of artists from across B.C. has returned to Penticton.

The Public Sculpture Exhibit, which first launched in 2016, can now be seen around the city's downtown core.

Owned by seven artists, from as far as Coquitlam and Dawson Creek, the new original sculptures will be on display through April 2025.

"This annual program enhances the vibrancy and connectivity of our downtown," said Joanne Malar, the city' manager of recreation, arts and culture. "We look forward to the unique creations each year while supporting accessible art that transforms public spaces."

Look for the sculptures along the Okanagan Lake waterfront, and Front Street roundabout, the city said.

A jury made up of members of the city's Arts Creative and Cultural Innovations Committee, as well as community representatives, selected the following sculptures to take part in this year's program:

º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù¢ Connor MacKinnon (Kelowna, BC) "Adopt a spider"

º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù¢ Les Louis (Cawston, BC) "Kakin kw sxwuyax? (Where are you going?)"

º¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù¢ Jean E. Ouellon (Kaleden, BC) "1760"
