Report of armed man shuts down road near Cawston

Incident involving a man with a gun closed the Fairview-Cawston Road for about three hours

A report of a man with a gun closed the Fairview-Cawston Road for about three hours Saturday morning.

The Keremeos RCMP are not releasing many details about the situation but Cpl. Brian Evans said the issue was resolved without anyone being injured.

The RCMP received a call about an incident at about 8 a.m. on the Fairview-Cawston Road about five kilometres east of Cawston.

Evans declined to speak specifically about the complaint but referred to a press release sent to Black Press stating, 害羞草研究所渢he complaint related to an individual with a firearm.害羞草研究所

The road was blocked for about three hours while police from Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos and Penticton along with the police K-9 unit from Penticton worked to bring the incident to a conclusion.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

No charges are pending and no further information will be released regarding the incident, Evans said in an email.
