Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 106 Shuswap team members are being awarded for their excellence.
Last week, Sicamous-based station leader Rob Sutherland announced five Station 106 Shuswap members are being honoured by Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) headquarters. Three members are being given CEO Commendations and two are receiving administrative excellence medals.
Two representatives from RCMSAR Headquarters in Sooke will be coming to Station 106 on July 5 for an awards ceremony, where the names of the recipients will be revealed and medals handed out.
Station 106 has been busy this summer ensuring Shuswap lakes and waterways are safe.
A Kids Don害羞草研究所檛 Float kiosk has been suggested for Pebble Beach in Blind Bay by users who would like to see the loaner life-jackets available there. Station 106 is able to install a station as the site has been approved and does not limit any lake views, reads a Station 106 Facebook post. The approved spot is behind the life ring stand.
However, the lifejacket kiosk needs a community sponsor or group, willing to lend financial and light maintenance support, to become a reality. Interested sponsors can send a Facebook message or email station106@rcmsar.com.
The Pebble Beach location would be the 20th Kids Don害羞草研究所檛 Float station set up in the region.
Station 106 also recently helped Shark Shack staff learn life-saving activities to safely operate business on the water. The team was instructed on using the life rings that were installed in 2022 and practised 害羞草研究所榤an overboard害羞草研究所� recovery.
