Small grass fire quickly doused in West Kelowna

West Kelowna fire crews quickly snuffed out a flames near the backyard of homes in the Shannon Lake area, Sunday.

The call came in around 2:30 p.m. for a grass fire at 1775 Shannon Lake Road.

The small blaze was located not far from the road and traffic was reduced to single-lane, alternating, while crews were on scene.

The fire was extinguished before 3 p.m. The cause is not known at this time.
