Up to 1,000 evacuees can be accommodated in Kelowna and West Kelowna

Group lodging has been prepared in Kelowna and West Kelowna for evacuees impacted by B.C.害羞草研究所檚 wildfires, with Emergency Social Services.

Emergency Management BC has requested the Regional District of the Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre provide temporary group accommodation for evacuated B.C. residents evacuated. Emergency Social Services is prepared to accommodate in excess of 1,000 evacuees at locations in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

A Reception Centre has been set up at 1480 Sutherland Avenue and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. All people on Evacuation Order must register at the Reception Center to receive assistance.

The YMCA is offering free access for people on Evacuation Order who have identification. The YMCA has three convenient locations in Kelowna. Visit for more details.

Several fire departments throughout the Central Okanagan have deployed resources to assist with the Williams Lake fire. The Central Okanagan has received significant assistance from other areas throughout the years and are happy to assist as able.
