Vernon RCMP respond to alleged arson threat at Coldstream home

An individual had allegedly threatened to set fire to a property after an altercation

A threat of a potential fire sparked emergency crews into action Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Firefighters and RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a Coldstream property around 3 p.m.

Initial information provided to police was that an assault had occurred and during the altercation, one of the individuals allegedly threatened to set fire to the property.

As a precautionary measure, the responding frontline officers requested assistance from the Coldstream Fire Department who attended the scene.

No fire was set and one person was arrested.

The individual was later released from custody and police are continuing to investigate.
