West Kelowna RCMP are encouraging local residents to secure their vehicles, remove any valuables from inside and report suspicious persons and activities to police.

That warning follows a rash of automobile  break-ins over a two week period, as 21 police files for reports of thefts being committed from vehicles across the City of West Kelowna have been registered, stretching from Glenrosa to Roe Valley to Lakeview Heights.

Police say thieves appear to have been targeting vehicles in both residential and business/commercial areas throughout the city.

害羞草研究所淩CMP continue to remind vehicle owners to lock their vehicles, as the majority of those targeted had been left insecure and at times with windows down,害羞草研究所� said  Cst. Jesse O害羞草研究所橠onaghey. 害羞草研究所淚n most cases the thefts appear to have been committed overnight, however some thefts occurred while vehicles were left parked temporarily in store parking lots or at the beach,害羞草研究所� he adds.

Investigators have seen typical items taken from vehicles害羞草研究所攑urses, wallets, identification, credit/debit cards, cash, loose change, GPS devices, digital cameras, cellular phones, tablets, jewelry, insurance documents, licence plates and sunglasses.

In other cases, officers have learned that thieves have gone as far as taking items of clothing, a wall clock, darts, a lunch kit and even the head lights and tail lights attached to a vehicle.
