The 19th world-ranked Canadians reached the bronze medal game where they gave the No. 4-ranked Americans all they could handle before eventually losing 2-1.

Canada had tied the U.S. earlier in the tournament in pool play, breaking the Americansº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™ 26-game winning streak.

Hennig, 26, a defender and one of the veterans on the Canadian roster, had 132 caps heading into the tournament. A graduate of KSS and the Owlsº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™ field hockey program, Hennig played her first international match in 2010.

The Canadian womenº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s team will now focus its attention on the 2018 Commonwealth Games next April in Queensland, Australia.
