Kelowna rowers contend at provincials

Women害羞草研究所檚 doubles team from Kelowna Rowing Club narrowly missed medal in Victoria

The Kelowna Rowing Club had four athletes competing at the B.C. Championships.

The Kelowna Rowing Club turned in a respectable showing at the B.C. Rowing Championships this month at Elk Lake in Victoria.

Nicole Samuelson and Jocelyn Carmichael finished a close fourth in the final of the women害羞草研究所檚 under-19 double, just 1.8 seconds out of third place. The Kelowna duo finished the 1850m event in eight minutes 1.96 seconds.

The 12-team race was won by the Victoria City Rowing Club team who will represent B.C. at this year害羞草研究所檚 Canada Summer games.

Also representing Kelowna were Claire Benade and Toni Vandenbrink who finished fifth in B final of the women害羞草研究所檚 open double.

The Kelowna Rowing Club also had four athletes competing in the women害羞草研究所檚 open quad event where they finished in fifth.

The Kelowna team is coached by Dan Thompson.
