KISU swimmers win B.C. more medals

KISU swimmers Acacia Benn and Tyler Wall add to medal count at Canada Summer Games

It was another stellar performance for Team B.C. swimmers at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg Thursday evening.

Team B.C. won nine medals: two gold, five silver and two bronze, pushing their total to 36 medals after four days of competition at the .

KISU swimmers Tyler Wall and Acacia Benn chipped into that count.

Wall won silver in the men害羞草研究所檚 200 m backstroke and silver in the men害羞草研究所檚 4x50m medley relay with teammates Matthew Crawford (Richmond), Joshua Kim (Langley) and Thomas Kranjc (Tsawwassen). With these two medals, Wall now has seven this week.

Benn took gold in the women害羞草研究所檚 200 m backstroke. She was joined on the podium by Hana Edwards (Victoria) who won silver in that race 害羞草研究所 her first medal of the Games.

Soccer playing for fifth

Bjorn Borren and B.C. lost to Alberta 3-2 in penalties following 80 minutes of scoreless action. It was nearly a mirror image of the women害羞草研究所檚 tournament last week as once again B.C. lost in the quarterfinals in devastating fashion. B.C. is now eliminated from medal contention and will fight for fifth place starting Friday at 7:30pm [CDT] against New Brunswick at Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.
