A Lake Country athlete has hit the track running.

In her first year of post-secondary school, Steph Millar made Simon Fraser Universityº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s cross-country team.

While she is on the team, she is currently listed as a red-shirt to begin the season, meaning she practices with the team but wonº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™t be competing in competition unless sheº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s called upon.

The George Elliot Secondary School graduate won the 800-metre race at the 2023 Okanagan Zone championship with a time of 2:27.78 a few months ago. She also won bronze in the 400-metre event.

Millar has also raced for the Okanagan Athletics Club in the past, finishing sixth in the 400-metre and seventh in the 1500-metre at the BC Championship Jamboree in Kamloops in July of 2022.
